Why Is Google Ranking Reddit and Quora Posts Above Professional Websites?
When I search for many topics, I often see Reddit and Quora ranking higher than well-established websites. Does Google now value user-generated discussions more than expert content, and what’s the reason behind this shift?

Is AI-generated content really the problem, or is poor content the real issue?
The concern is understandable, but it is often directed at the wrong thing. Google doesn't penalise content simply because AI helped create it. What Google wants to avoid is content that is inaccurate, unoriginal, or created purely to manipulate search rankings.
AI is just another writing tool. Used well, it can speed up research, generate ideas, and help structure content. Used poorly, it can produce generic articles that add little value. The difference lies in how much human expertise, editing, and original thinking go into the final piece.
From what I've seen working in SEO, the websites that perform consistently are the ones that publish content people genuinely find useful. Google's systems are designed to reward pages that demonstrate expertise, answer search intent, and provide a better experience than competing results.
Instead of asking whether Google can detect AI, ask whether your content offers something worth reading. If the answer is yes, AI is unlikely to be the deciding factor. If the answer is no, removing AI from the process won't fix the problem.
