Why are UK B2B businesses getting better results on TikTok than LinkedIn?
I always assumed LinkedIn was the best platform for B2B marketing, but I’ve been hearing that some UK businesses are getting surprisingly good results on TikTok. Why is this happening, and is TikTok becoming a serious B2B marketing channel?

This is something that genuinely surprised me when I first started seeing the data, because LinkedIn has always been the default go-to for B2B marketing. But the shift toward TikTok for B2B in the UK market makes a lot of sense when you think about it.
The audience on LinkedIn has become very saturated. Everyone is posting thought leadership content, company updates, and professional insights. The organic reach has dropped significantly over the years and paid advertising on LinkedIn is expensive compared to most other platforms. For smaller B2B businesses especially the cost per lead on LinkedIn has become harder to justify.
TikTok's algorithm works differently and that's the key advantage. On LinkedIn your content mostly reaches your existing connections and followers. On TikTok a single well made video can reach thousands of completely new potential clients who've never heard of your business before, without spending a penny on ads. For B2B businesses trying to build brand awareness this is a massive difference.
UK B2B decision makers are on TikTok more than people assume. There's still a perception that TikTok is only for younger consumer audiences but the reality is that business owners, marketing managers, procurement heads, and directors are all scrolling TikTok in their personal time. Reaching them there in a less formal environment actually works in your favour because the competition from other B2B brands is still relatively low.
The content format forces businesses to be more human and straightforward. TikTok doesn't reward polished corporate content the way LinkedIn does. Behind the scenes videos, quick tips, honest opinions, and real people talking directly to camera perform well. This builds genuine trust faster than a well designed LinkedIn carousel ever could.
Cost is a big factor too. Organic reach on TikTok is still strong compared to other platforms and when businesses do run paid ads the CPMs are significantly lower than LinkedIn. For B2B businesses with limited budgets this makes TikTok a much more efficient channel right now.
The UK market specifically has been quite early in adopting this shift compared to other regions. B2B brands in sectors like software, recruitment, finance, and professional services are seeing real enquiries and leads coming directly from TikTok content which would have seemed unlikely just two or three years ago.
