Which CMS is best for small businesses in the UK - WordPress, Wix or Squarespace?
I’m planning to build a website for my small business in the UK and trying to decide between WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace. Each platform seems to have its own pros and cons, especially when it comes to ease of use, cost, customization, and SEO.
I’m not very technical, so I’m looking for something easy to manage but also flexible enough to grow with the business.
Which CMS would you recommend based on your experience? What worked well for you, and are there any limitations I should be aware of?

From my two years of experience in web development and working with small business websites, I’d say there’s no single “best” CMS; it really depends on your needs. If I want something quick, easy, and budget-friendly, I usually lean toward Wix because of its drag-and-drop simplicity and built-in tools. If design and branding matter more, I’d pick Squarespace, since its templates look more polished out of the box. But for long-term growth, SEO, and full control, I personally prefer WordPress, as it offers unmatched flexibility with plugins and customisation, even though it requires more effort to manage.

From my experience, it really depends on your business needs and how much control you want over your website.
I’ve worked with WordPress, Wix, and Squarespace.
If you want a quick and easy setup, Wix or Squarespace are good options. They are user-friendly and help you create a clean, professional website without much technical effort. Squarespace is known for its neat design, while Wix offers more flexibility in layout.
However, if you are planning for long-term growth, better SEO, and more customization, WordPress is a better choice. It takes a bit more time to manage, but it gives you greater control.
In my experience, many small businesses start with Wix or Squarespace and later move to WordPress as their needs grow.
