Is TikTok marketing actually working for UK businesses in 2026?

I run a business in the UK and I’m thinking about adding TikTok to my marketing strategy. Before investing time and budget into it, I’d like to know whether TikTok marketing is still effective for businesses this year.

I’ve been looking at how TikTok is performing for UK businesses recently, and it still feels very active and effective in 2026.

From what I see, it is no longer just a “trend platform” for Gen Z. It has become a proper discovery channel where people actively search, watch reviews, and make buying decisions. UK usage is very strong, with millions of users spending close to an hour or more on the app every day, which keeps engagement high and consistent .

For businesses in the UK, I notice TikTok works especially well when the content feels real and shows products, services, or results in action. It is not just about going viral anymore. Even small accounts can get reach if the content matches what people are interested in, because the algorithm pushes based on behaviour rather than followers.

In my experience, it is still worth investing in, but only if I am ready to post regularly and focus on content that feels natural rather than overly promotional. It works best for visibility and brand awareness, and I usually combine it with other channels like Google or Instagram to convert that attention into actual customers.

So overall, I still see TikTok as a strong marketing channel in the UK right now, not outdated at all, just more competitive and strategy driven than before.

Yes, TikTok marketing is still effective for many UK businesses in 2026, especially for brands targeting younger audiences. It works well for industries like fashion, food, fitness, beauty, and local services because short, authentic videos usually get better engagement than traditional ads. Many businesses are using TikTok to improve brand awareness, reach local customers, and even generate sales through TikTok Shop. However, success depends on consistent content, creativity, and understanding what your audience wants to watch rather than focusing only on promotions.
